Canadian City Deploys RT-1000 To Clear Trails

Canadian City RT-1000 TractorFar up in northwest Alberta, Canada, the City of Grande Prairie has added a RT-1000 robot to its fleet for use on the city’s trail network. After the initial pilot testing, city officials say the robot will be deployed to clear snow and spread salt and sand at Muskoseepi Park, a 1,100-acre parkland with various asphalt and gravel paths.

According to officials, the addition of the RT-1000 to the snow clearing fleet will allow Grande Prairie to provide a higher, more consistent level of service to trail users with no impact on staffing numbers. Grande Prairie averages 54.5 snowfall days and 60.8 inches of accumulated snow per year. That’s a lot of snow days!
